12 freezers from JBT help MPC double shrimp output in Vietnam.

Minh Phu Seafood Joint Stock Company (MPC), Ca Mau City, Vietnam, a major processor of frozen shrimp products, has signed a $6.1 million order with JBT FoodTech to supply freezing solutions for a new plant in Hau Giang province.

JBT FoodTech will supply and integrate eight ADVANTECTM impingement freezers and four GYROCOMPACT[R] spiral freezers for the Hau Giang facility. MPC has been a leading producer of farm-raised frozen shrimp in Vietnam for the last 10 years, and this new plant will enable it to double the amount processed for export to worldwide markets.

The project is currently scheduled to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2010. Founded in 1992, Mink Phu became a joint stock company in 2006, and it now embraces several subsidiaries specializing in larva production and bio-technology as well as farming and processing.
