12 BIFFs slain in Maguindanao.

ILIGAN CITY- The Joint Task Force Central (JTFC) continued to launch military operations against the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) and the Daesh-inspired Toraife Group on Sunday in Barangay Malingao, Shariff Saydona Mustapha in Maguindanao, July 8.

The operation resulted in the killing12 BIFF rebels, mostly from air and artillery fire directed at Sitios Pandan, Mungkas and Bulod of Barangay Malingao where the terrorists reportedly held out.

Among the BIFFs killed were: Baser Alon, Nurdin Kalun, Kemi Jainudin, Wahed Anuwar, Bensar Ali, Arapat Gemal, Bedo Gamadil, Wari Brahim, Bakar Seral, Tato Menta, while two others remained unidentified.

There were also nine who were reportedly wounded from the extremist group.

"Our troops on the ground are continuously gaining advantage over the BIFF bandits in the SPMS Box for the past seven days of intensified military operation," said JTFC Commander Brig. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana.

"SPMS Box" refers to the towns of Salibo, Pagatin (Datu Saudi), Mamasapano, and Shariff Aguak.

Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) spokesperson Col. Gerry Besana said that since May 26, 57 BIFF terrorists have already been killed and 37 wounded, based on reports from the Sixth Infantry Division.
