1105 Media to acquire Contingency Planning & Management Group.

10105 Media (Chatsworth, CA), a company formed earlier this year by Neal Vitale, Nautic Partners (Providence, RI) and Alta Communications (Boston, MA) and the parent of 101communications (Chatsworth, CA) and Stevens Publishing (Dallas, TX), has agreed to acquire Contingency Planning and Management Group (CPM; Lambertville, NJ), a company that provides information and coverage of the contingency planning industry through a range of media products, from MCG Capital Corp. (Arlington, VA). No terms of the deal were given.

The purchase is expected to close by the end of 2006. CPM Group produces "CMP Global Assurance" newsletter, formerly "Contingency Planning & Management" magazine, a monthly subscription title that covers business continuity and survival strategies, including disruption prevention, preparedness, mitigation, emergency response, medical facility disaster planning, homeland security developments, emergency notification systems, pandemics, benefits of business continuity planning, FEMA, and ensuring communications continuity.

CPM's "Industry Insider" newsletter carries information and articles on new industry products and services, while the company's two trade shows, CPM West and CPM East cover the latest trends, products, services and in the business continuity, emergency management and security professions. The company also produces a vendor directory, the "BCP Handbook," a title designed to assist in examining and contrasting prospective industry vendors, and "CPM Directory."

1105 Media said that CPM's assets dovetail effectively with its security and government magazines and related information products, including "Federal Computer Week," "Occupational Health and Security" and "Security Products" magazines.
