1105 Media acquires Fawcette and education shows.
FTP magazine print titles include "Visual Studio Magazine," "Java Pro," "Windows Server System Magazine" "Enterprise Architect" and "WebLogic Pro." Conferences and exhibitions include VS Live!, Web Design World and Web Builder 2.0. The company also produces related newsletters, books and online resources, including RSS feeds and webcasts. FTP will become a part of 1105 Media's Redmond Media Group (RMG), the publisher of "Redmond Magazine," "Redmond Channel Partner" and the recently launched "Redmond Developer News," as well as related web sites and the semiannual TechMentor conference.
RMG Publisher Henry Allain said the purchase of FTP positions RMG as the "dominant media outlet serving all facets of the Microsoft IT, channel partner and developer communities ... the efficiencies gained through this acquisition are far-reaching, as many of the RMG and FTP products and audiences are perfectly complementary to each other."
Also, 1105 Media has purchased the Florida Educational Technology Conference from The Florida Educational Technology Corp. (FETC; Tallahassee, FL). FETC was established in 1996 to advocate and support the use of technology in education by providing an annual "world class" conference and other initiatives, including a newsletter and web site, for the education community.
