107,806 people fined for not using seat belts.

LAHORE -- The City Traffic Police (CTP) took action against 107,806 people for not fastening seat belt during a crackdown.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Tayyab Hafeez Cheema has said that coordinated efforts were needed to create an awareness among the masses regarding use of seat belts, adding that the traffic education teams besides traffic wardens were educating people.

The CTO directed the DSPs and sector incharges to take action against non-users of seat belts without any discrimination and submit the performance report daily.

He said the CTP was utilizing all available resources to make the campaign a success as the use of seat belt could decrease accidents on roads.
