101COMMUNICATIONS ACQUIRES E-GOV CONFERENCE GROUP, MAGAZINE.
Described as the "premier conference group targeting management in the federal through local government sectors," E-Gov Conferences produces a number of annual events, including "E-Gov 2001," an event focused on e-government policy, implementation and technology, and five related conferences on e-procurement, Web-enabled governments, knowledege management, information assurance and e-learning The company also publishes E-Gov magazine, published six times a year.
Established in 1997, E-Gov said that its 2000 conferences had 12,000 attendees and that it is expanding with the addition of three conferences for government employees and vendors. IT Direct owner Chuck Lockard said that "we have collaborated with (101communication's) civic.com and Federal Computer Week in the past, and now as a 101 team member, we are anticipating serving the public sector IT market in an even stronger fashion."
Besides the above-mentioned, 101communications produces 12 magazines in four other areas, including software development, vertical markets, Windows certification and enterprise systems, as well as nearly 30 conferences and related Web sites.
