10 dead, 100 injured in South Korea roof collapse.

GYEONGJIU (TAP) - A resort auditorium's roof loaded down with snow and rain collapsed during a welcoming ceremony for South Korean university freshmen, killing 10 and injuring more than 100, officials said.

The accident occurred when the roof of the building caved in while more than 500 freshmen were gathered at the building in the Manua Ocean Resort in Gyeongju, Ministry of Security and Public Administration officials said.

Weather officials say the southeastern region saw the heaviest snowfall this month since measurements began three years ago.

President Park Geun-hye ordered an investigation as well as safety checks of buildings near the country's east coast.
