10,000 and rising as they all flock to Ninian; CITY'S WEMBLEY DREAM Final push sparks Bluebirds' fans to set season-ticket record 35 DAYS TO GO CITY'S FINAL COUNTDOWN.

CARDIFF City Football Club has smashed its record number of season ticket sales on the back of the team's magnificent FA Cup run.

For the first time ever, the Bluebirds have soldmorethan10,000 season tickets, with sales for the 2008/09 season beating their previous record set in the club's debut year in the Championship.

Club spokesman Julian Jenkins said: "We are very busy selling season tickets.

"We are through the 10,000 barrier which is a record. Our previous record was just under five figures. We would like to remind fans the deadline to buy season tickets for the 2008/09 season is Monday."

But as the number of season ticket holders rise, other fans could miss out on a golden FA Cup ticket as the club has been allocated only 25,000 tickets for the Wembley showdown.

The way tickets are to be allocated among fans will be decided by the club on Monday.

Ben Coombes, 25, a central heating engineer, of Rhiwbina, Cardiff, said he was worried he might miss out. He said: "I think they should give out the same allocation as the semi-final.

"All the fans who had a semi-final ticket should be given the opportunity to get a final ticket, too.

"I'm an away member so I'm hoping I'll get a ticket.

"I'll be making a weekend of the final." Mike Davies, 21, a mechanic, of Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, said: "I don't think 25,000 is enough really.

"I understand they have to give some tickets to companies but then loads of them turn upon eBay and sell for thousands of pounds.

They need to make sure the true fans get the tickets they deserve. I think I'll be OK because I'm a season ticket holder."

Grahame Dewar, a chef from Caerau, Cardiff, said: "I have heard all clubs in the league can apply for tickets, which is completely unfair.

"I think they should give about 15,000 tickets to businesses and the rest should go to fans of the two finalists.

"We could fill Wembley with just our own fans if we wanted.

"I'm planning on queuing all night like I did for the semi. There's no way I'm missing out."
