..but Cam's hiring, if you want to be a spin doctor.
DAVID Cameron is defying his own spending squeeze by using taxpayers' cash to hire an army of new spin doctors.
The PM and Chancellor George Osborne are making pounds 81billion of cuts to public spending but want more than a dozen new spin doctors and special advisers on salaries of up to pounds 90,000.
Ten new positions in the Cabinet Office alone will leave taxpayers with an extra wages bill of up to pounds 500,000 a year. Transport Secretary Phil Hammond also wants a chief spin doctor on up to pounds 80,000 and Health Secretary Andrew Lansley wants experts to sell his NHS reforms. Labour MP Clive Betts said: "Despite to cut the number of spin doctors, the Tory-led Government is spending hundreds of thousands on new PR jobs. It seems the recruitment freeze doesn't apply when it comes to spinning their damaging policies."
