Volvo Car Corporation, a Sweden-based automaker, is doubling production of the V60 Plug-In Hybrid-Electric Vehicle.

The automaker sold the first 1,000 that they produced last year, and initially expected to increase production to 5,000 in 2014, but now they plan to increase it to 10,000 due to unanticipated demand.

The vehicle is equipped with a diesel hybrid-electric propulsion system and is priced at around USD80,000.
