15 February 2011 - Swedish polymer technology solutions provider Trelleborg AB (STO: TREL B) said today its net profit from continuing operations more than tripled to SEK1.284bn, as demand rebounded, and raised its dividend to SEK1.75 per share.

For 2009, the company's net profit was SEK403m and the payout was SEK0.50 apiece.

Demand increased significantly in 2010 and sales rose by 10% year-on-year to SEK27.196bn.

Consequently, operating profit surged to SEK2.036bn from SEK734m.

"The distinct increase compared with last year is a result of increased volumes and a more efficient structure," CEO Peter Nilsson said.

Overall, demand in the first quarter of 2011 is expected to remain in line with or be slightly better than in the fourth quarter of 2010, adjusted for seasonal variations, the company said.
