Toyota Motor North America Incorporated, a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE: TM) (LSE: TYT) (TYO: 7203), is recalling 427 units of the RAV4.

The recalled models are from the 2011 model year, produced from November 24, 2011 to December 19, 2011.

The automaker is recalling the vehicles because of a problem with the curtain shield airbags. Propellant with the incorrect specification was used for the initiator assembled in the airbag inflator, which can lead to the inflator not performing properly, causing one or both curtain shield airbags to fail to deploy.
