-Swedish banking model to be exported to Holland.
Global Banking News - 15 February 2013
Stockholm based Svenska Handelsbanken AB (STO: SHB) plans to export its banking model to Europe by adding 15 branches to its Netherlands office, besides offering card services and internet banking for private customers.
The bank, which is considered to be among the best capitalised major banks in Europe, follows a model of risk aversion and de centralisation where branch managers make most credit decisions.
Many politicians including the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne have praised the model. The bank has operations in Denmark, Finland, Norway and UK and is now expanding in Holland.
