19 September 2011 -- JCR has affirmed the J-2 rating on the commercial paper (CP) programme of Japanese general trading company Shoko (TYO:8090), part of the Showa Denko K.K. Group.

The company's business performance has returned to normal after a temporary deterioration during the recession.

In addition, Shoko has maintained its stable management and has added new goods to offset negative trends at some of the products it trades in.

The company also plans to expand its global presence under its mid-term business plan, which starts in fiscal year ending 31 December 2011, and the rating agency will monitor to what extent Shoko achieves its goals and raises its earnings power.
