18 May 2012 - Oppenheimer &Co Inc has put Richard NeJame in charge of restructuring and special situations advisory in the investment banking department, the US investment banking firm said on Thursday.
In his role as managing director - head of restructuring & special situations advisory, NeJame will report to the head of the firm's investment and corporate banking operations, Marshall Heinberg. He will be based at Oppenheimer's global headquarters at 85 Broad Street in New York City. At the firm, he will remain focused on restructuring, continuing his previous experience.
Prior to joining Oppenheimer, NeJame served as a managing director, co-head of restructuring and recapitalisation group at Gleacher & Company between 2008 and 2011 and was in charge of new business origination of restructuring and leveraged finance transactions.
NeJame was also a founding member of the restructuring group at Lazard Freres & Co for almost ten years, where as a senior investment banker he oversaw new business generation, financial advisory and negotiations in restructurings, M&A, leveraged finance and other transactions. Before joining Gleacher, he was managing director at Imperial Capital LLC.
Oppenheimer operates as a principal subsidiary of Oppenheimer Holdings Inc (NYSE:OPY) and offers wealth management, securities brokerage and investment banking services.
