Republic Airways Holdings Inc (NASDAQ: RJET), a US-based airline owned by company that operates airlines, Chautauqua Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Mokulele Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America, has announced its financial results for fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2011.
Operating revenues are USD697.8m for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, compared to USD649.8m for the same period last year. Net loss in the 2011 fourth quarter is USD123.5m, or USD2.55 per diluted share, for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, compared to a net loss of USD1.3m, or USD0.03 per diluted share, for the same period last year. For 2011, annual revenues are USD2.86bn, compared to USD2.65bn for 2010. Annual net loss for 2011 is USD151.8m, or USD3.14 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of USD13.8m, or USD0.38 per diluted share for the full year 2010.
Bryan Bedford, the company chairman and chief executive officer, said, 'We are very pleased with our fourth quarter results, especially in light of significant fuel price headwinds on our branded operations. Our restructuring efforts during 2011, coupled with strong unit revenue growth at Frontier, enabled us to produce significantly improved ex-item results this quarter, in spite of more than USD35m of increased fuel costs.'
