Mercedes-Benz, a subsidiary of Daimler AG (NYSE: DAI) (FWB: DAI), is celebrating 105 years of four-wheel drive.
Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, the precursor to Mercedes-Benz, introduced the 'Dernburg-Wagen', the world's first commercially available four-wheel drive vehicle, in 1907.
The Dernburg-Wagen was equipped with a 35bhp 6.8-litre four-cylinder engine that drove all-four wheels.
