Mazda Motor Corporation (TYO: 7261), a Japan-based automaker, has launched its 2012 MX-5 Miata Special Edition at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.

The model is to be priced from USD31,225. The automaker is releasing 450 units of the vehicle for sale in the United States.

The vehicle features a black-only power retractable hard top, two new exterior colours, 17-inch black gunmetal alloy wheels, black exterior accents, black heated leather seats and piano black interior finishes to match. It is available with a choice of a six-speed manual transmission complete with a short-throw gear stick, and a six-speed sport automatic transmission with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.
