Leaf River Energy Center LLC, a subsidiary of NGS Energy LP, has started operations of a gas storage facility on April 1, 2011.

The company has started injecting gas into its first cavern which is permitted for eight BCF of storage capacity. The company is also planning to operate an additional cavern in 2012, and the present FERC certificate allows for a total of four caverns with around 32 BCF of capacity and the capability to inject up to 1 BCF/d and withdrawal up to 2.5 BCF/d.
