-Irish central bank governor calls for speedy corporate restructuring.
Global Banking News - 28 September 2012
The governor of the central bank of Ireland, Patrick Honohan, has said that corporate restructuring needs to be speeded up in the country.
While making his opinion at a Corporate Restructuring Conference in Dublin, he called for a speedy and surgical approach to corporate restructuring and said that such a move could have a big impact on struggling firms.
Honohan said, 'Given the large number of firms still under pressure, implementation of an effective and speedy but surgical approach to corporate restructuring could have a big impact. Every month that passes for an un-restructured distressed corporate is an energy-sapping lost opportunity for recovery.'
