TELECOMWORLDWIRE-(C) 1994-9 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Fujitsu General has launched the 42" Plasmavision PDS 4222 colour plasma screen. Designed as a true multimedia screen, not only for the viewing of digital broadcasting but also for business presentations using PCs, the display system incorporates Fujitsu's ALIS (Alternate Lighting of Surfaces) technology - a panel driving method which digitally enhances the amount of pixels available - for high clarity and definition and to offer video display performance with 500 candela brightness. Other features include a 160 degree viewing angle, an ability to produce over 16m colours, a depth of just 85mm and powerful detachable speakers. Pricing was not revealed. Meanwhile, Advanced Plasmavision Ltd, in conjunction with Fujitsu General and Steljes professional trade hire, has fitted 500 of the Plasmavision screens in the Cardiff, Twickenham and Murrayfield rugby stadia in the UK for the Rugby World Cup.
