Auto Business News - 03 June 2011
Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F), a United States-based automaker, has confirmed it is to develop a 1.0 litre, EcoBoost, three-cylinder engine.
The engine is to be designed at the automaker's Dunton Technical Centre in the United Kingdom. It features a turbocharger, direct-injection and twin independent variable camshaft timing, and will develop power similar to the naturally aspirated, 1.6 litre four-cylinder in the Ford Fiesta, which delivers 120bhp and 112 lb-ft of torque.
The new engine is to be unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
