15 December 2011 - Finnish retailer Kesko Oyj (HEL:KESBV) announced today its total sales, excluding value-added tax (VAT), increased by 7.4% year-on-year to EUR822.4m in November 2011.

Sales in Finland advanced by 7.2% to EUR683.2m and international sales increased by 8.4% to EUR139.2m.

Food sales came in at EUR363.3m in November, up 9.2% year-on-year, while sales in the home and speciality goods business declined by 3.1% to EUR143.9m.

Sales in the building and home improvement segment increased 3.7% in annual terms to EUR230.8m, whereas car and machinery sales jumped by 32.3% to EUR98.4m in November.

In the first 11 months of 2011, Kesko's total sales went up 7.9% on the year to EUR8.729bn.
