Travel Business Review - 28 September 2011

Hilton Worldwide, a subsidiary of the Blackstone Group (NYSE: BX), a US-based hospitality company, has entered into a management agreement with BP Pluto, a Craotia-based company, for a new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Zagreb, Croatia.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Zagreb is part of a mixed-use development of offices and retail space in Zagreb, and will open in 2012.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, the company senior vice president, development, Europe and Africa, said, 'Our outstanding portfolio of brands, which includes DoubleTree by Hilton, is gaining real momentum in South Eastern Europe with further projects under development in Croatia, Montenegro, Romania, Hungary and Bulgaria. Operating as part of the Hilton Worldwide system brings significant benefits to owners and developers and as markets continue to recover we expect to sign multiple new deals in the near future.'
