Global Banking News - 18 September 2012

Credit Suisse AG (NYSE: CS) is to hand over more internal documents to US authorities probing tax evasion by Americans.

The bank had earlier this year transferred correspondence concerning details of US operations. It also transferred the names and details of employees who dealt with American clients. After the move invited criticism from authorities in the nation, the bank agreed with the nation's data-privacy authority to give staff the option of obtaining information about transfers of data in advance.

A spokesperson for the bank said that all client-specific data had been removed from the business records that are to be transferred in the latest move.
