Global Banking News - 03 October 2011

Citigroup Inc (NYSE: C) is said to be planning for a major management shake-up in Japan.

The banking company is said to be considering a revamp of its Tokyo management team following an investigation into its disclosure policy. The bank could make changes in order to include more Japanese managers, or even appoint a chief operating officer for its banking operations in Japan.

The banking arm in Japan is expected to receive sanctions from Japanese authorities as early as this month, due to alleged lapses in disclosures.
