China is increasing export duties on some rare earth minerals effective January 1, 2010, Dow Jones has reported citing the Ministry of Finance.
The country will maintain temporary duties on exports of coal, crude oil, fertilizer and nonferrous metals as part of efforts to ensure domestic supplies and restrict the export of polluting products.
