According to Reuters, Belgium has announced that it will lift a ban on covered short selling of stocks and other financial instruments.

The regulator said that improved market conditions have allowed it to lift the ban. However, the ban on naked short selling is to continue.

Last year in August, regulators extended a ban on naked short selling to all kinds of short selling.
