British bank Barclays Plc (LSE: BARC) (NYSE: BCS) has hired Sally Bott, currently the head of human resources at global oil giant BP Plc (NYSE: BP), as the head of human resources at the British bank, Dow Jones has reported, citing a person familiar with the situation.

Bott has also resigned from the board of Swiss bank UBS AG (NYSE: UBS) (ZHR: UBSN) (UBSN.VX) last week, the person said. Meanwhile a spokesman for BP said that Bott's departure from the oil company would be effective at the end of April.

According to Forbes data, Sally Bott had joined BP in 2005 as an executive vice president responsible for global human resources, and previously worked with Marsh and McLennan as managing director and as head of global human resources at Marsh Inc. She had earlier in her career worked with Citibank (NYSE: C) and Barclays Plc. In 2008, Sally was elected as a non-executive director of UBS AG.
