-BTA says it has access to central bank funding.
Global Banking News - 09 April 2012
Kazakhstan-based lender, BTA Bank, has announced that it has access to central bank funding via repurchase transactions.
The bank said that it has access to about KZT40bn of funding via repurchase transactions with the central bank. This has become possible because of the inflows of corporate and household deposits.
The bank is looking to restructure its debt for a second time in two years. It had failed to make an interest payment on its July 2018 dollar bonds in January and is seeking an agreement with creditors on its second restructuring by September.
