Global Banking News - 11 March 2011

BBVA (MC.BBVA) has opined that capital shortfalls in some of Spain's banks are manageable.

Saying that the shortfalls were lower than those of Ireland's, BBVA chairman, Franciso Gonzalez, said, 'The results of the Bank of Spain's exercise confirm our financial system is solvent. The combined capital shortfall for some of the banks is manageable, lower than that of Ireland's banks.'
