22 November 2011 - Swiss-Swedish power and automation technology group ABB Ltd (VTX:ABBN; STO:ABB) will seek to achieve revenues of USD1.2bn from Sub-Saharan Africa in four years, according to Carlos Pone, head of ABB South Africa.

Sales in the region are expected to grow by at least 7%-10% a year in the period to 2015, Pone said today in an interview for Swiss daily Le Temps. The growth will be achieved via investments in so-called smart grids, renewable energy, oil and gas, and mining, according to the executive.
