'FACE THE MUSIC' COMPLETES PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Movie Group announced today the completion of principal photography of "Face the Music," a romantic comedy starring Molly Ringwald, Patrick Dempsey and Lysette Anthony. Directed by Carol Wiseman and produced by Monique Annaud's Paris-based Chrysalide Films, the picture was shot entirely on location in Paris.
"Face the Music" tells the story of a songwriter (Dempsey) and lyricist/singer (Ringwald), recently separated, who rediscover love when a movie producer brings them together to compose a song for an upcoming film.
"Face the Music" is the final of six feature films financed under a $20 million joint venture between France's Canal Plus and The Movie Group. This is the second such joint venture between the companies. Already produced this year are "Road to Ruin," starring Peter Weller and Carey Lowell, "Hot Chocolate" starring Robert Hays and Bo Derek, "Shooting Elizabeth," starring Jeff Goldblum and Mimi Rogers, "R.S.V.P.," starring Patrick Dempsey and Kelly Lynch and "Tattle Tale," with C. Thomas Howell and Ally Sheedy.
Live Home Video has acquired the package of six films for distribution in the United States. "Road to Ruin" has been released and "Hot Chocolate" and "Shooting Elizabeth" are slated for late November street dates.
The Movie Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of International Movie Group (AMEX: IMV), is the only publicly traded company devoted exclusively to the distribution of independently produced English language films to the foreign marketplace.
