'KENNY LOGGINS: GOING HOME' WILL MAKE ITS EXCLUSIVE WORLD TELEVISION
PREMIERE ON THE DISNEY CHANNEL ON JULY 12
The Informal Concert is Set at the Grand Canyon
BURBANK, Calif., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- "Kenny Loggins: Going Home," the latest of The Disney Channel's "Going Home" series, features the singer/songwriter set in the breathtaking surroundings of the Grand Canyon. The show will make its exclusive world television premiere on Sunday, July 12, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) on "Sunday Night Showcase," announced Douglas Zwick, vice president of program acquisition. In 1991, another special in this series, "Paul McCartney: Going Home," won the CableAce Award for Outstanding Music Special.
This special features hits from "Leap of Faith," his intensely personal current album which reflects the wide range of emotions that he has experienced with the recent changes in his life. His commitment to help the environment inspired "Conviction of the Heart," a passionate plea on behalf of a planet in need. It was this commitment which led to the selection of the dramatic concert site on the edge of the Grand Canyon. Songs from the album also include the recent single "The Real Thing," an appeal to a young child unable to understand divorce; "Cody's Song," which was written for his son; "Sweet Reunion," about the mystery and joy of falling in love; "Will of the Wind;" the title song, "Leap of Faith;" and the current single "If You Believe."
Loggins also performs the hits "Celebrate Me Home," "Whenever I Call You Friend," "Heart to Heart," and "This is It." "House at Pooh Corner," "Danny's Song," and "Your Mama Don't Dance," favorites from his earlier years when he was teamed with Jim Messina, are included as well.
Produced by Jeb Brien and Ron Kay and directed by Brien, "Kenny Loggins: Going Home" is a production of Sony Music Video Enterprises Inc. Shep Gordon, Denzyl Feigelson, Jerry Durkin and Deborah Newman are executive producers.
The Disney Channel is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS).
