(GCC) SG. condemns Israeli Prime Minister's remarks on West Bank.

RIYADH, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdul-Latif Al-Zayani on Wednesday condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements on his intention to annex lands from the occupied West Bank to Israeli sovereignty. In a press statement, Al-Zayani described the remarks as "a serious provocation and aggression" that are contrary to international law and the Charter of the United Nations and resolutions of international legitimacy and undermine international peace efforts. He said that the West Bank, occupied by Israel since 1967, is a Palestinian land under the facts of geography, history, international law and Security Council resolutions, denouncing the Israeli violations of the rights of the Palestinian people and the continued Israeli occupation authority to confiscate Palestinian lands and establish settlements there. Al-Zayani called on the international community to condemn Israel's violation of the rights of the Palestinian people in the occupied territories, calling on the UN Security Council to take a decisive position to protect the Palestinian people and to stop the attacks and violations committed by Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories. He affirmed the GCC's support to the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish an independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital within the framework of the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.
