(ECO) TURKEY AND NAKHICHEVAN SIGN NATURAL GAS AGREEMENT.

NAKHICHEVAN, Jul 18, 2010 (TUR) -- Turkish energy minister said that Turkey and Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic signed an agreement on construction of natural gas pipeline.

A signing ceremony took place in Nakhichevan on Saturday for the agreement on construction of 200 km pipeline between Turkey and Nakhichevan.

Delivering a speech in the ceremony, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz said that the agreement on natural gas pipeline would boost ties between Turkey and Nakhichevan.

The agreement was signed between Turkey's Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

Later Yildiz departed from Nakhichevan for Turkey.
