(ECO) TURKEY'S ISBANK ANNOUNCES MID-YEAR NET PROFIT AT TRY 1.8 BLN.

ISTANBUL, Aug 13, 2010 (TUR) -- Turkey's Is Bank posted on Friday a net profit of 1.8 billion Turkish liras (nearly 1.2 U.S. dollars) for the first six months of 2010.

The bank said in a press release that the figure marked a 31 percent increase over the same period last year as its assets size was up with 9 percent to 124 billion TL.

Is Bank said its credit volume grew by 18 percent to 57 billion Turkish liras with a 22 percent increase in corporate and commercial credits, and a 16 percent rise in house loans.

The bank's total deposits achieved an above-average increase to reach to 80 billion Turkish liras, marking a 11 percent rise over 2009-end.

The number of bank's branches was up to 1,119 from 1,093 as the number of its personnel increased to 23,665 from 22,473.

Is Bank said its consolidated equity capital reached 16.15 billion Turkish liras, the highest among banks in Turkey.
