Ergun, who visited the Silicon Valley in San Francisco, said the Industry and Trade Ministry would set up an assistance mechanism for Turkish entrepreneurs to go to the Silicon Valley to expand their businesses and open out to the world.
Ergun visited the Plug&Play Tech Center which is the largest incubation center in the valley and held meetings to introduce Turkish entrepreneurs to the center which provides opportunities to American companies as well as companies from 12 countries to open out to the world.
Industry and Trade Minister Ergun, who also got together with Turkish entrepreneurs owning companies or working in large companies in the valley, said they wanted to develop specifical assistance models for the informatics center.
"Silicon valley is an important and successful example for the Informatics Valley project which is under preparation in Turkey. We want to establish connections with this project and the Silicon valley. We visited the largest incubation center with these purposes. Many companies from around the world find here opportunities to expand their businesses and open out to the world. Our ministry can send some companies and tech-entrepreneurs to these incubation centers," Ergun said.
"One of our other goals is to get the large companies, whose softwares we use in Turkey, to make investments in our country. In Turkey, they can find opportunities to reach out to a wide market. We want to allocate suitable spaces for these companies," Ergun said.
