ANTALYA, Nov 22, 2010 (TUR) -- Antalya, one of Turkey's major cities of tourist attraction in the Mediterranean Coast, attracted 9.389 million tourists so far in 2010.

Data compiled from figures provided by the Antalya Culture & Tourism Directorate revealed the number of tourists, who arrived in the city via airway, reached 9,389,472 since the beginning of the year.

Antalya attracted as many as 29,150 tourists only last weekend and the number of tourists visiting the city since the beginning of the month reached 224,401.

Figures mark a 6% month-on-month and 11% year-on year rise in the number of tourists visiting the city.

Head of Antalya Culture & Tourism Directorate Ibrahim Acar is confident the number of tourists will exceeded 10 million until the end of the year. He says Antalya will attract more tourists from the UK in 2011 as a clear rise in demand was observed at a travel fair held recently in London.
