(DIP) TURKISH PARLIAMENT SPEAKER RETURNS HOME FROM MONGOLIA.
Turkey's Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin arrived in Mongolia last Thursday to participate in the Naadam Festival celebrations.
Organized between July 11-13 every year in Mongolia, Naadam is a national holiday that includes competition of the fastest horses' racing, wrestling of powerful wrestlers and archery.
Sahin met Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj, Parliament Speaker Damdin Demberel and Prime Minister Sukhbaatar Batbold during his formal visit to Mongolia.
Parliament Speaker Sahin inaugurated dental care unit and blood bank built by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) in a hospital, and visited Mongolian Turkish School and the Orhun Museum in the city of Karakum.
The museum consists of Orhun Monuments and was built by the Turkish International Cooperation Agency (TIKA).
Orhun inscriptions are the oldest known Turkic writings, which were erected near the Orhun River between 732 and 735 in honour of two Kokturk princes named Kul and Bilge.
Sahin also attended the inauguration of the Islamic Cultural Center of Ulan Bator and a new mosque.
