(DIP) TURKEY OFFERS CONDOLENCES TO IRAN OVER JET CRASH.

ANKARA, Jul 16, 2009 (TUR) -- Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) offered condolences to the families of passengers who were killed in a jet crash in Iran on Wednesday.

"Today's passenger jet crash in Iran in which all passengers and crew members died was learned with deep sadness. We share the deep pain of the friendly and brotherly Iranian people and relatives of those killed and offer our condolences," the Turkish MFA said.

An Iranian passenger plane carrying 168 people crashed shortly after takeoff, into a field northwest of the capital Tehran and shattered into flaming pieces. All on board were killed in Iran's worst air disaster in six years.
