(DIP) TAJIK PRESIDENT RAHMON HOSTS BANQUET IN HONOR OF TURKISH PRESIDENT GUL.

DUSHANBE, May 30, 2009 (TUR) -- Turkish President Abdulah Gul said on Friday that Turkey believed there was necessary potential in Tajikistan to become a center of attraction of Central Asia.

Gul, speaking at a banquet hosted by Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon in his honor, stated that there was the necessary will in both countries to further improve rooted relations and strong cooperation.

"My visit reaffirmed will of Turkey to diversify and boost relations in line with common interests of our nations," Gul said adding that Turkey would continue to support Tajikistan in the future.

"Tangible cooperation opportunities are promising for the future of economic and trade cooperation. We encourage Turkish businessmen and industrialists to invest in Tajikistan," Gul said.

"Turkey appreciates the steps taken by Tajikistan on the way to peace and stability," Gul said.
