DIYARBAKIR, Oct 27, 2010 (TUR) -- Iran's renown ethnic jazz musician Azam Ali and his Niyaz Band are set to give a concert in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir.

Azam Ali and his band will perform at the Dicle University on November 27.

Fidel Balta of the Diyarbakir Foundation for Culture and Arts (DKSV) which is organising the concert said Wednesday that Azam Ali was the perfect embodiment of the founding purpose of DKSV and what it wanted to accomplish in Diyarbakir.

He is Iranian, son of a Kurdish mother and Persian father, was raised in India and lives in the U.S. He sings in Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic and Persian. He is one of the best ethnic jazz musicians of the world. We invited Azam Ali to the inauguration reception of DKSV in 2008. However due to wide demand from followers of DKSV events, we invited him again," said Balta.

Iranian vocalist Azam Ali has featured in motion picture projects of the movie "The Matrix:Revolutions" and the TV series "Alias and the Agency". He is renown for his unique ability to use his voice like an instrument.
