`Fuddy,' 'Fully' make move.
NEW YORK "Fuddy Meers" and "Fully Committed" are moving from not-for-profit theaters to commercial Off Broadway venues.
David Lindsay-Abaire's "Fuddy Meers," playing at the Manhattan Theater Club, will travel downtown in the new year to the Minetta Lane Theater; previews will begin Jan. 28, with a Feb. 10 opening. Jean Doumanian and MTC are producers and have made offers to the original seven-member cast -- headed by J. Smith-Cameron -- to reprise their roles.
The Vineyard Theater production of Becky Mode's comedy "Fully Committed" takes up residence at the Cherry Lane Theater on Dec. 14 for an official opening two days later. Mark Setlock ("Rent") reprises his role as a harried reservations clerk at a four-star Manhattan restaurant.
David Stone, Jesse L. Martin, Adam Pascal and Susan Quint Gallin are presenting the Vineyard production of Mode's one-person show.
Last year, Stone, Martin and Pascal put up money for workshop productions of the comedy at the Adirondacks Theater Festival and the New York Theater Workshop. Martin and Pascal had performed in "Rent" with Setlock.
