[euro]204k bull Jagger to breed Satisfaction for syndicate.
A BULL which sold for a record-breaking [euro]204,000 must have moo-ves like Jagger as he's now in demand as a stud.
The Irish-bred bull has even been named after the notorious lothario and now the syndicate which bought him are set to rake it in.
Each month a "straw" of prized bull's semen is used to fertilise cows and can cost almost [euro]140 a pop.
The Limousin bull - full name Trueman Jagger - is expected to produce thousands of "straws" so his five new owners are sure to be laughing all the way to the bank after buying him at auction.
Despite being just 17 months, Jagger has already been placed as the Overall Male Champion, Reserve Overall Champion and Junior Interbreed Champion at the Royal Ulster Show at Balmoral.
His breeder Henry Savage, from Newry in Co Down, revealed he had great Satisfaction with the animal from the start.
He said: "All the bulls in 2014 had to start with J and I was looking at the possibilities when Jagger jumped out at me. I said at the time, 'Hopefully he will make as much money as Mick Jagger. It must be in the hips.
"From when Jagger was a baby, he was a superstar - we knew he was a really special calf.
"When registering him we had to pick a name to live up to his star quality and as the whole family are big music fans, Jagger was the obvious choice."
While You Can't Always Get What You Want, Henry boasts he's been very lucky with his livestock.
He added: "It was a terrific price and he is a magnificent animal.
"His mother was a prizewinner and his granny was a super cow so it goes back in the generations.
"At the show the generosity of spirit from those there was apparent. There are a lot of genuine people who are so happy to see you do well."
Melanie Alford, speaking on behalf of the syndicate, said: "There's exceptional potential in a bull of this outstanding quality. He has size, shape, style, is very correct and walks well.
"The terrific weight gain he has shown is something you would expect he will pass on to his progeny. He has fantastic figures and his bloodlines bring something a little different as well.
"He's a marquee bull with a huge future ahead of him and a bull that in time, through semen collection, we aim to make available to breeders."
