VALUEVISION NETWORK'S HOME SHOPPING PROGRAMS COME TO CINCINNATI
We are advised that the following supercedes an earlier ValueVision release to Cincinnati area (CL006). Please accept the following correct release: (We regret any inconvenience. Thank you):
MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- ValueVision International, Inc. (NASDAQ:VVTVA, VVTVU), today announced it is bringing its new television home shopping programs to Cincinnati-area residents, on Channel 32. The company reached an agreement with Warner Cable, which now is carrying the ValueVision Network to its 180,000 subscribers from 4:00 a.m. to noon EST, seven days a week.
"Although ValueVision may be a new name to viewers, many of us came from the former Cable Value Network (CVN),'' said CEO Bob Johander. "'One example is on-air host Carmela Richards, who has been called 'the Vanna White of television home shopping' by People magazine.''
 ENTERTAINING HOSTS, MERCHANDISE VALUES,
 CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CONVENIENCE
"We took what we learned at CVN and developed an even more appealing format,'' Johander explained. "First, we have recognizable personalities, such as Carmela, Susan Garrett, Charla Rines, Mike Sullivan, Eddie Nelson, Wes McCoy and Steve Sedahl. Second, we think entertainment is important and want our viewers to have fun watching the show. We really enjoy talking with the people who call in and getting to know them -- and sharing their comments with other viewers. Third, we truly believe in the 'value' part of our name. The merchandise we offer, from a gold nugget bracelet to a dual- deck VCR, is good quality at a competitive price. We like to present unique, hard to find products. Fourth, if we had a middle name, it would be 'convenience.' One example is the Video Shopping CartTM. It allows customers to order as many items as they like (with some limitations) from noon one day until noon the next. Then we combine and pack all of their orders and charge a single shipping and handling fee of $6.95. ValueVision is the only television home shopping network to offer this service.''
ValueVision International was founded in 1990 by several executives who helped build Cable Value Network (CVN) into the second-largest television home shopping network. The company reaches viewers in five major metropolitan areas: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Houston and Minneapolis. It uses a combination of low-power television (LPTV) stations (which broadcast signals in a smaller radius than full power stations); multihour blocks of program simulcast time purchased on large U.S. cable television systems; and unscrambled program distribution to satellite dish owners. ValueVision's television production, order response and warehouse facilities are located at its headquarters in a suburb of Minneapolis. The company's stock is traded on NASDAQ under the symbols VVTVA (Class A stock) and VVTVU (units).
