/C O R R E C T I O N -- MASTERCARD INTERNATIONAL/

In DC014, MasterCard Issues Reaction to Announcement of "The Consumer Reporting Reform Act of 1993," moved earlier today, we are advised by a representative for MasterCard International of revisions to the statement by Charlotte Rush. The corrected statement follows:
Although we have not yet seen Congressman Gonzalez's bill, we support the intention to protect consumers. Indeed, the credit reporting industry has taken significant steps over the past two years to improve services. Congress should carefully review the provisions of recent consent decrees entered into by the major credit reporting bureaus as it considers this bill. In addition, any legislation should provide for uniformity and consistency in credit reporting compliance nationwide.
