| New mayor Paul Denham New Worcester mayor is from Huddersfield THE new mayor of Worcester is Paul Denham, from Crosland Moor. He lived in Huddersfield until he was 19.

He was educated at Spring Grove and Crosland Moor primary schools and Huddersfield New College, when it was a grammar school, between 1958 and 1965. From there he went to Hull University and his first job was in London.

His father was a primary school head teacher and his mother a school administrator, and they lived in Huddersfield most of their lives. His sister and her husband still live in Crosland Hill.

Since 1984, he has lived in Worcestershire and became a Worcester city councillor in 2000. He has three adult daughters, and is married to fellow councillor Lynn.

He is a trustee of four local charities, and is a local magistrate.
