,CiEight students injured in Oman vehicle accident.

Muscat: Two students were seriously injured, with six others sustaining moderate injuries, after being run over, Nizwa Hospital has announced. All the victims were female students, the hospital added. Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed, "Run over accident of eight female students from the Nizwa School for Basic Education in Redat Al Busaid area of Nizwa. Two of them sustained severe injuries and six sustained medium and light injuries." An official at ROP said: "The accident took place in Nizwa on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred after the driver mistakenly stepped on the accelerator instead of the brakes. She was going to school to pick up her children."

In its statement online, Nizwa Hospital said, "The hospital received eight cases due to a run over accident of female students, resulting in two cases in red (critical) and six cases in yellow (medium injury)."
