(GEN) ANADOLU AGENCY, TRNC'S FOREIGN MINISTRY AND TURKISH NEWS AGENCY-CYPRUS SIGN COOPERATION PROTOCOL.

ANKARA, Jun 10, 2009 (TUR) -- Anadolu Agency (AA), Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Turkish News Agency-Cyprus (TAK) signed a cooperation protocol on Tuesday.

According to the protocol, the three parties will cooperate on the transfer of numerous photographs to the digital environment.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held at AA HQ in capital Ankara, Dr. Hilmi Bengi, Director General and head of the Executive Board of the agency, said that Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of TRNC asked for AA's help for the transfer of some historical photographs to the digital environment.

Bengi said that the Turkish Cypriot ministry had numerous photographs of Cyprus dating back to 1950s and the negatives of such photographs would be turned into digital format thanks to AA's support.

During the ceremony, Bengi and head of the Information Department of the Turkish Cypriot Foreign Ministry Mustafa Guclu signed a cooperation protocol.

Moreover, a similar protocol was signed between AA and TAK for the transfer of TAK's analogue negative archive to digital format.
